Laura Goodban studied Mah Jongg at Lakeland Community
College in 2013. Since then, she has played weekly with the Mah
Jongg group that began that year at the Concord Community
Center. Mah Jongg is a game that began in China, but is now
enjoyed around the world. It uses rectangular tiles with painted
symbols, numbers, and pictures. Racks and pushers help hold
and move the tiles. Learn how to build the tile walls, do the
Charleston (Mah Jongg style), choose a hand to build, and play
the game. See why “pairs are a pain” and how the “wall” can
win. Each student should purchase and receive before class an
“Official Standard Hands & Rules” tri-fold card. Order online

This four-session class is offered on Wednesdays, April 4
through April 25, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
